Curriculum Overview
At Aspen Beauty Academy – Laurel, our 1500-hour Cosmetology Program prepares you for the Maryland State Board exam and real salon work through hands-on training in hair, skincare, makeup, lashes, brows, and nails—plus real-client practice to build skill and confidence.
What You’ll Learn (in various levels of detail)

Haircutting & Styling: precision cuts, layers, blowouts, thermal styling, and updos

Texture Services: perms, relaxers, curl reformation, and smoothing treatments including keratin

Hair Color: gray coverage, highlights, dimensional color, and color correction basics

Wigs & Extensions: safe installation, blending, and maintenance (multiple methods)

Skincare: skin analysis, facials, hair removal, and product knowledge

Makeup + Lashes/Brows: makeup application, brow tinting, lash extensions, lifts, and brow lamination

Nails: manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, and UV gel

Professional Development: State Board prep and salon business
